Every time we feel angry or upset with someone or an event, it may have very little to do with the present situation, but more from an old dug-up wound. These wounds produce automatic triggers and most often than not, stay with us for life. As we grow older, more and more triggers are formed causing us to act irrationally when activated.
Truly knowing our reasons for our upsets and frustrations, instead of allowing ourselves to be automatically triggered, enables us to grow emotionally in ways that will affect our whole being. Looking honestly at what caused our reaction, allowing ourselves to step back and be clear about our feelings and intentions, enable us to communicate them clearly instead of taking out our frustrations on the people closest to us just because we feel safe and comfortable with them.
