Our survey revealed five dominant struggles:
Stress & Anxiety – Nearly half of all respondents reported ongoing stress, showing why emotional regulation must become central in coaching and corporate training.
Lack of Motivation & Procrastination – Especially common among both employed and unemployed individuals, signaling emotional fatigue rather than laziness.
Financial Struggles - Related to daily cost of living and financial worth
Fear of Failure & Self-Doubt – Deeply tied to identity and self-worth, requiring reframing and storytelling approaches.
Career Growth – Strongly linked with dissatisfaction at work and career growth concerns.
The implication? Organisations and individuals need more than just skills—they need emotional strategies that strengthen resilience and restore clarity.
Across roles, the patterns differ:
Homemakers: Report high stress in daily demands and self-worth struggles.
Employed professionals: Struggle between emotional well-being and professional fulfillment.
Self-employed: Experience heavy uncertainty and decision-making pressure.
Job seekers: Face a mix of emotional inertia and financial strain.
This shows that pressure isn’t limited to one group—it’s universal. And that makes NLP Training relevant for anyone navigating change.
One striking insight was the level of emotional rumination:
70% replay past events at least occasionally.
33% do so frequently or constantly.
Only 6.7% report never doing this.
This “replay loop” drains energy, undermines confidence, and keeps people from moving forward. Whether it’s workplace performance reviews, client uncertainty, or family conflicts—the brain holds on, replaying stress like a broken record.
NLP techniques such as anchoring and reframing provide practical ways to interrupt these loops and create new emotional pathways.
When asked what they wanted most, respondents shared:
Confidence & Self-Belief (60%) – The strongest growth driver.
Emotional Resilience (50%) – Especially vital for homemakers and freelancers.
Motivation & Discipline (40%+) – To overcome inertia and stay consistent.
Career & Purpose Alignment (40%+) – The desire to find clarity and meaning in work.
This proves that people are not just seeking survival skills. They’re seeking transformation—tools that create lasting change in how they think, feel, and act.
Here’s the challenge:
30% are ready to begin the journey.
43% are hesitant.
23% say, “Now is not the right time.”
The ones who need support the most are often the least ready to act—because they’re overwhelmed, skeptical, or used to carrying it all alone.
This is where Ashton Training Academy courses and low-barrier, emotionally intelligent training come in. Leaders, coaches, and organisations must show—not just tell—that change is possible.
